Tinker Bell the pixie first showed up in J. M. Barrie‘s 1904 play and 1911 novel Peter and Wendy. And became most well known  in 1953 animated Walt Disney picture Peter Pan. In the picture and the official Disney Character Archives, she is referred to as a pixie.
